These delicious cutout sugar cookies are easy to prepare and great for any occasion!
- 1 cup Maine Country Butter™ at room temperature (Two squares of Maine Counrty Butter™ equals one cup.)
- 1 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1g Egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla or Lemon Extract
- 2 3/4 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Don't forget to top your sugar cookies with our delicious buttercream frosting!
|Preheat oven to 400° F. Combine Maine Country Butter™ and sugar in an electric mixer and beat until light and fluffy.|
|Add egg, extract, and baking powder and mix thoroughly.|
|With the mixer set on a low speed gradually add the flour. Incorporate any flour that the mixer may have missed with your hands.|
|Split the resulting dough into two balls. Wrap one in plastic and save for more cookies later. Using a rolling pin, roll the other dough ball out to approximately a 1/4 inch thick.|
|Here comes the fun part! Use cookie cutters to make any shape you want. Place the cutouts on an ungreased cookie sheet.|
|Bake for 6-7 minutes until light brown on the edges. Place on a cooling rack after baking.|
