Whoopie Pie

Just like Grandma used to make! Old-Fashioned Maine whoopie pie halves combined with a smooth creamy filling.


  • 1 cup Maine Country Butter™ room temperature (Two squares of Maine Counrty Butter™ equals one cup)
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Milk


Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Step 2
Combine Maine Country Butter™ and sugar in an electric mixer and beat until light and fluffy.
Step 3
In a separate bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Step 4
Add the eggs and vanilla to the mixer and mix well.
Step 5
Alternate between adding the sifted dry mix and milk to the butter and sugar mixture start and end the process with the dry mix.
Step 6
Spoon 2 tablespoon portions of batter onto an ungreased cookie sheet creating the pie halves.
Step 7
Bake 7-8 minutes it is done when you touch the top of the pie and it springs back.
Step 8
To store filled Whoopie Pies wrap each one in plastic wrap or single layer them in a plastic container. Our Whoopie Pies freeze well.
